The Institute regularly organizes or co-organizes distinguished scientific conferences and issues the journal Engineering Mechanics. It also closely collaborates with institutes of the Czech Academy Sciences such as Institute of Physics of Materials, Institute of Thermo-mechanics, Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and with other technical universities and industrial companies.
The Institute is sustaining contacts with foreign partners, e.g. School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Dublin City University, Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa v Portugalsku, TU Chemnitz, TU Darmstadt, Politechnika Warszawska, Academy of Technology and Agriculture Bydgoszcz, Iľevsk Technical University, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.
